NutriConnect™ Banatrol® TF Liquid Modular Fiber

Banatrol TF is a life changing product. My brother (83 years old) was hit by a car on April 3, 2026 while leaving a YMCA to go to his car. He received horrendous multiple injuries and was hospitalized for over 4 months. In addition to the immediate injuries he had two strokes following his surgeries. One paralyzed his vocal cords so he has to be feed all nutrients/fluids through a feeding tube. This caused diarrhea. He was prescribed Banatrol TF to help decrease/manage diarrhea. It has been incredibly helpful firming and controlling his BMs. He was discharged home and we learned that Medtrition does not deal with any insurance companies for this product. Sadly we have only found vendors will cover Banatrol Plus not the TF. The Plus product is problematic because it has a tendency to clog tubes whereas the T F doesn’t. We have not had an occluded tube using TF. We have had to pay for the TF ourselves which will be difficult to maintain. We love Banatrol TF and wish Medtrition could find a way to bill insurance so we could continue providing the care our brother needs. I am concerned if he can not continue to receive TF he will revert to his previous diarrhea and be at risk for skin breakdown.

It works well with my husband's feeding tube.

It tastes awful--but it is the only thing that has been effective in stopping diarrhea.

Works well, although some constipation is present. Overall l will likely continue to use the product.
